Paving the Way for Clothing-Optional Trails in Australia & Beyond

The Australian Naturist Trails Alliance (ANTA)โ€”also known as OZNTAโ€”is a pioneering initiative dedicated to opening up naturist-friendly trails in national parks and public lands. Our vision is simple yet revolutionary: to give naturists the legal and social freedom to reconnect with nature, unclothed and unburdened.

We believe that hiking, swimming, and relaxing in nature should be clothing-optionalโ€”free from judgment, stigma, or outdated laws. ANTA is working to make this vision a reality.

๐ŸŒฟ Why ANTA Exists

For decades, naturists in Australia have been restricted to beaches and private clubs. We say itโ€™s time to move forward.

Naturism is not just about nudityโ€”it's about wellness, freedom, and nature. ANTA promotes:

  • Body positivity

  • Mental health

  • Freedom of expression

  • Nature conservation

  • Sustainable tourism

By creating officially recognised clothing-optional trails, we empower naturists to experience the wild as it was meant to be: freely and naturally.

๐Ÿงฉ Legal Pathway: Section 633

There is a little-known clause in the NSW Local Government Act 1993โ€”Section 633โ€”that allows councils to designate public spaces as clothing-optional.

ANTA is leveraging this legislation to: โœ… Propose official clothing-optional hiking trails
โœ… Work with councils and park authorities
โœ… Establish national precedent for naturist access
โœ… Protect naturist rights through legal clarity

Combined with the philosophical and religious recognition of NaturismR, this strategy offers an unprecedented opportunity for reform.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Our Plan in Action

PHASE 1: New South Wales

Work with local councils to establish Australiaโ€™s first clothing-optional hiking trails in remote and low-traffic areasโ€”starting with NSW parks and riversides.

PHASE 2: National Expansion

Replicate the model in other statesโ€”Victoria, QLD, WAโ€”by proving naturist trails are safe, respectful, and widely supported.

PHASE 3: Global Inspiration

Share our framework with international naturist communities to inspire worldwide trail designations. ANTA will become a global blueprint.

๐ŸŒ Who We Serve

We are building this for:

  • Hikers who prefer nature as nature made them

  • Naturists who want more than just beaches

  • Allies who support body freedom, mental wellness, and sustainability

  • Families, individuals, and advocates ready for cultural change

๐Ÿ’ฌ What Makes ANTA Different?

Unlike typical lobbying groups, ANTA is action-driven:

  • We already launched petitions supporting specific trail and beach designations

  • We work with local councils and legal experts to unlock real change

  • We collaborate with NaturismRE, Naturis Sancta, and other forward-thinking bodies to create a cultural shift

  • We engage with global naturist organisations to share ideas and amplify success
